I am going to be testing Oct 2nd in Plano Tx. This site is awesome, I refer to it every day. I've taken a few online courses and also the Excelsior workshop, I really want to pass this thing the first time around. Wish me luck. By the way, it was an Excelsior staff member who referred me here.
Thanks for keeping it going!

I can t thank you enough for this site! I did not take a workshop, and pretty much just studied the EC guide and your site. I just passed the CPNE today (DEC 13 2009) and owe it all to your site.
Thanks again.

Congrats on passing....I just found your site and think it's great. Thanks for keeping it going. I will be testing in a few months.....most likely in Syracuse. Has anyone tested at Syracuse or Satoga Springs? I am looking at both sites. Thanks.

I was given your site to help me with the CPNE. In your opinion is it possible to pass the CPNE without going to a workshop and just learning your stuff as well as the study guide, other people etc? I test in 2 weeks and am scared to death? Any help I would love...

Thanks for your website, I failed the CPNE twice. The first time I failed the wound. The second time I failed the care plan rational X2 I took EC workshop a few weeks ago and was directed to your web site by EC. They made it seem so simple at the workshop. They seemed to help me focus on what they wanted. I was still trying to do things the way I have done in the facility I have worked in for 20 years. I realize now I just need to learn how they want things done, which is not wrong, just different than what I am used ro doing. I test in Aug. Wish me luck. I feel alot more prepared, but still scared since it is my last chance.

Terri I don't have your gmail address so hopefully you'll see this here.

The CPNE one of he most frightening experiences and I think of and the most important thing, I believe is to relax. I used to race motorcycles and did more than my share of crashing, and it usually resulted in broken bones and very painful injuries. Eventually I learned that relaxing at a time when it looks like something incredibly bad is about to happen allowed me to walk away from 100 mph + crashes. I think the CPNE is the same way. On my second attempt I failed the first PCS. I was very unsure of myself and constantly looking for approval from the tester. I did not look like a confident Nurse in charge of the situation. After that failure I was at first devastated but quickly realized I had nothing to lose. I reminded myself that failure here did not mean the end of my life and it would be something I could overcome. So I went into the next one with the attitude that I was going to take charge and whatever happens, happens. I passed that one. The only difference was confidence. On the next one on Sunday I received the dreaded nightmare PCS. Again I reminded myself that there was nothing to lose and took charge, I told the tester what I was going to do and when, prioritized, told her what I needed and passed it. After that attitudes toward me changed. Instead of a shaky, fearful and unsure student I now presented as a confident Nurse. Of course you have to be prepared and know your stuff. Realize that no matter what this does not define you. It can only cause suffering if you allow it. Best of luck. I'll keep you in my thoughts. Redden

Thanks sfor your words of encouragement. Even though I feel scared I believe I can do this. I have started submitting documentation and care plans to the message board for review and have make a commitment to myself to focus on the task ahead. It really does help to hear that others feel and know the stress you have felt in similar situation. I guess one of the hardess things to face was going back to work and coworkers knowing I failed. But like you in a way I was so defastated, butknew it was not the end of the world. So I picked myself up after crying for a few hours and knew that would not change anything. I have put so much of my time and myself into this to let it bring me down. I want this more than ever now. Just continue to pray that I can stay focused and calm. Thanks again thanks for your words of experience. I needed that. Terri
